Technical Questions

I have read that it's best to do a delay after riding the scoot and before the battery starts recharging. If I remember right, you hold on to the left brake to activate the delay time you set yourself, and the right brake to activate a 30-minute delay. My questions are: (1) how important is the delay, and is it ok to sometimes top it off without a delay?, (2) Is it really true that the longer the delay the better?, (3) How does the bike register the delay, meaning is it when you turn the key from on to off, or do you need to take the key completely out before letting go of the brake? Any other tips about battery charging and delay would be appreciated.

Neil
