2007 Vectrix
The Vectrix is a Maxi size scooter, and is the first commercially available high performance electric scooter.[2] It is capable of over 60 mph (97 km/h) and 50 mph (80 km/h) is reached in a little under 7 seconds, with maximum torque available from 0 revs, a characteristic of electric motors. It has under 250 parts, compared with 2500 for a conventionally powered scooter, and has a range of up to 65 miles (105 km) miles at 25 mph (40 km/h).

The 2007 edition of the Vectrix uses nickel-metal hydride batteries and from my driving, gets about 40 miles to the charge, however, I charge it each night so I rarely take it lower than a 80% charge on my daily commute. Like all scooters/motorcycles it is not ideal for New England -- at least year round. But on a nice summer day, it is like heaven! The 2007 speedometer is in km instead of miles here in the US, although it has the miles in the smaller numbers. This is confusing and causes me to stare at the speedometer too much when I should be looking that road. I hear the 2008 version has the speedometer in miles (at least here in the US). It is fast and good-looking -- I get compliments daily, even people who do not know that it is electric. As a second vehicle, it is fun to drive, and it is good to know that I am saving the world in the process. ;)
